About Me

Hi, my name is Brandon Couts

Who Am I?

I've been a gamer since the first time I picked up a Nintendo controller in 1987. I've been a professional athlete. I've been a coach. I have been a teacher. Now I can say that I'm a game developer. I wish that I would have started this journey in game development earlier in life, but everything has a time and place. I'm glad that I'm doing it now. I have a couple of ideas that I need to come to fruition.

What Do I Do?

I decided to become a game developer in 2017 after using a HTC Vive at a demo booth in Germany. I could see the use of virtual reality in entertainment and real world applications. I am currently developing games for the PC, Virtual Reality HTC Vive, and I plan on releasing versions of my games on the PlayStation , Nintendo Switch, and Xbox platforms down the road.

Why Am I Doing This?

Creating games has been on my bucket list since I was a teenager. I decided to attended college on an athletic scholarship. While choosing a major, I became concerned if I could manage the Computer Science workload with my expected athletic commitments, so I ended up majoring in Management Information Systems. I went on to have an amazing athletic career with multiple conference, national, and world titles and records.

After spending some time living in Europe, I decided that it was time to make my game development dream a reality. I've been an elite athlete, championship winning coach, and life changing educator. The same energy that I put into being successful in these activities, I'm putting into developing my games and growing my studio.

This moment was triggered by an article that I came across a few years ago. It stated only 3% of the game developers are black. As a catalyst for change, I'm hoping that my games will encourage other youths to pursue their vision of being game developers.
